Tell us about the Sales & Profits part of the Finances dashboard by Sellerise and why it's so crucial.

So, Sales & Profits is the go-to dashboard for most Amazon sellers.


But that's not all!


We also have a mobile app for iOS and Android that syncs with your Sellerise account.


The mobile app is perfect for checking your sales numbers when you're out and about.


Vova: Awesome, so it's like having your sales data in your pocket!


What can we actually see on this dashboard?


Dima: Exactly, Vova!


On the dashboard, you'll first see this Help Hub to access a quick tour and see video tutorials.



Then, there are these filters to switch between.



And underneath, we have these four main tiles displaying your sales numbers, net profit, return on investment (ROI), and pay-per-click (PPC) spent.


You can customize them per your preference!


Just click on a tile, and a window will pop up where you can choose what stats you want to see or hide.


It helps make everything neat and tidy.



Vova: Sweet, what else can we find there?


Dima: Next up, you can see different products that you sell. 



You can also filter data based on different products or time periods.


For example, if you want to see how sales have been for the last 30 days, you can do that through this filter option.



And it will display all day-by-day numbers.



You can also enable or disable specific data configurations like organic sales or mobile sales.



Vova: That sounds pretty versatile. Anything else that's cool?


Dima: Yep! If you want to do a deep dive, you can download all this data with just one click.


There's a download button below the tiles.



Or you can export everything into a CSV format through this option:



You can also change the view to see data by week or by month.



Continuing on, there's even more to explore on the dashboard!


For example, if you set a larger custom date range, it will break down the data by each month within that range.


But, if you prefer daily stats; you can always switch back to see day-to-day numbers.


Vova: Cool, so it’s like a flexible calendar for my sales data.


Dima: Exactly! Next, we have this transpose view option:



It's a neat feature that changes how the data is displayed.


Normally, you have dates on the left and metrics like sales on the right.


But in transpose view, you can flip it so that the metrics are on the left and the dates on the right.



This view is super useful when you're looking at week-by-week performance.


Vova: Got it, so it makes it easier to compare metrics over time.


What else can we do with this dashboard?


Dima: Right, you can download these monthly, weekly, or daily reports, depending on what you find most valuable.


Different teams have different needs, so we've built it to be super adaptable.


For example, we like to dig into weekly reports to get a comprehensive view, but sometimes daily reports are useful when you need to focus on a particular day.


Vova: I see. So if I want to get into the nitty-gritty of a specific day or week, the dashboard has got me covered.


What about filters?


Dima: Absolutely, there are even more filters!


One lets you see data for every product you’re selling.



As the screenshot shows, you can see orders, coupons, transfers, and more.


This is super helpful if you're managing multiple products or brands.


Next to it is another filter that allows you to see every product and all the numbers associated with it such as sales, manual expenses, cost of goods, etc.



Think of this view as your one-stop-shop for all things data.


No more juggling Excel spreadsheets; our dashboard does all the heavy lifting for you!


Now, let's keep the ball rolling!


So, you know how some sellers have more than one brand?


Let's say you're selling HP and Apple products; the dashboard allows you to categorize them separately through this product filter:



You can even group different SKUs together.


Vova: Oh, so it's like having different folders for different brands?

Think of it as a more organized way to view your products.


Say you're launching a new product line; you can create a group for it—call it "Launch" or whatever you like.



You then add products to this group by their SKU, ASIN, or even the parent ASIN level.



Once that’s done, you get this neat table view where you can easily switch between brands and check out how each is performing.

Dima: That’s just the tip of the iceberg.


Once you select a brand, you can delve deeper into each of its product's performance.



You'll see more detailed sales and other performance metrics for that specific product.


Again, there are various filters you can apply here, like the transpose view we talked about earlier.


Vova: So I can get really granular with my data.

Dima: Yes, that’s another great aspect of the dashboard.


It gives you a comprehensive look at what's happening in your business right now, whether you want to know about the last 30 days, yesterday, today, or for a custom timeframe.


The dashboard is flexible enough to let you work with data the way you prefer.


However, some people, like I mentioned earlier, prefer to work week-by-week with their teams.


For that, the transpose function is super useful.


Vova: So the dashboard is like a chameleon; it adapts to what you need, huh?


Dima: Exactly, Vova! Let's dive into a feature that can really help you keep an eye on your money.


For instance, you can pin columns like 'Ad Cost' and 'Net Profit' to easily compare them side by side.



Let's say you spent $165 on ads today, and you find that it led to a negative profit of $80.


That’s an eye-opener, isn't it?


Vova: Totally, it sounds like a quick way to see if I'm getting a good return on my advertising investment.


Dima: Precisely. And this becomes even more crucial if you have someone managing your Pay-Per-Click (PPC) ads.

You can actually check the percentage of refunds for each of your products.


You can analyze this data for one or two-week periods to identify which products may be causing you issues.

Dima: You got it!


Sometimes you might find that your refund percentage is higher than it should be for your category.


Like, in categories such as beauty and supplements, you should ideally have a refund percentage around 3-4 percent.


If it's hitting 7%, that's a red flag.


Vova: What if you're in a different category, like clothing?


Dima: Great question!


For categories like clothing, you could expect a higher refund rate, maybe even up to 10% or more.


If you find that your refund percentage is unusually high, it might be time to re-evaluate things like your packaging.


Vova: Oh, so packaging can make a difference in the refund rate?


Dima: Absolutely. If you're based in the United States, you've probably noticed how some stores use blister packaging that's sealed so tightly you'd break it upon opening.


Other types of packaging, however, can be resealed and the product inside can look almost brand new.


If you use that kind, you can often resell the item as new, which could reduce your refund percentages.


The landscape of Amazon has significantly shifted over the years.


Just five to seven years ago, as a seller, you could simply send your products to Amazon and not have to worry much about logistics.


But the world of Amazon has evolved, especially with the rising costs in logistics, storage, and fulfillment.


It's crucial now, more than ever, to be thorough with your logistics and ensure you're optimizing every single cent for profitability.


Vova: So it's not as simple as it used to be?


Dima: Far from it. I can share a prime example.


We operate a fulfillment center for Amazon sellers, known as ASAP Warehouse.


We have a client for whom we handle refunds, returns, and do repackaging.


This service alone generates an additional $5,000 to $7,000 for him monthly just from returns.

It's essential to consider how easy it is to make a returned product sellable again.


With the right approach, you can drastically reduce wastage and increase profitability.

You send products to Amazon, but once they're there, it can get confusing quickly.


Amazon lists shipments based on the latest update, not chronologically.


So if you modify an old shipment, it jumps to the top of the list.


Vova: Which could be very confusing.


Dima: Precisely.


That's where Sellerise comes in.

If a shipment has multiple products, Amazon muddles them together.


However, we separate them so you can track each product's journey more clearly.

Suppose you had four shipments that were more costly due to air freight; you could set a new unit price just for those four, and it won't affect the others.

Come Q4, you find out the cost has gone up to $120. If you adjust this in many traditional tools, they'll recalculate your entire year's cost, which isn't accurate.
