Vova: Bill, what strategies do you recommend for finding profitable books for Amazon FBA using online book arbitrage?

How can sellers identify which books will sell well?

Bill: Okay, let me break it down for you.

I assume you've logged into Zen Arbitrage and are ready to start sifting through the list of books.

The "Used" column on shows the current price of the book on Amazon.

You're basically comparing this price with the FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon) price to figure out your potential profit.

Here's the deal: if the price you can buy the book for is too close to what you can sell it for, it's not worth it.

For instance, if I buy a book for seven dollars and can only sell it for twelve, I won't make any profit once I cover my expenses like prep center fees, shipping, and Amazon's cut.

So, here's the strategy: I aim to find books where the FBA price is roughly three times higher than what I can buy them for.

Why?

Because this way, I can double my investment.

For example, if I spot a ten-dollar book, I'm hoping it'll sell for around $30.

Likewise, if it's a twenty-dollar book, I'm eyeing a selling price of about $60.

Why this math?

Well, Amazon takes a hefty chunk of your earnings, roughly a third, in fees.

So, after covering those costs, ideally, I'll not only recover my initial purchase price but also double my investment.

Vova: Thanks for breaking it down, Bill. That makes a lot of sense!
