Why Product Insurance Is Important And Do You Need It For Amazon Wholesale And Arbitrage?

Hey everyone, it's Vova Even here, and today I'm excited to talk about Amazon product liability insurance, a topic that's important for all eCommerce sellers out there!

Specifically, we'll be discussing whether it's required for Amazon online arbitrage and wholesale, and I have a special guest with me today to shed some light on this topic.

The article is based on my video with Amit Batzir from Spott. He is the person in the picture above.

Unfortunately, Spott is no longer in business, as of now.

Currently, my go-to person for insurance for Amazon products is Alex Vasko.

Why Is Product Insurance Important?

Before we get into the specifics of online arbitrage and wholesale, let's talk about why product insurance is important in the first place.

Simply put, product insurance protects your business from financial losses that may arise due to product defects, accidents, or other incidents.

If you're an eCommerce seller, you know that your business is vulnerable to a range of risks, from shipping mishaps to customer injuries.

That's where insurance comes in - it's a safety net that ensures that you're covered in case something goes wrong.

With the right insurance policy, you can rest assured that your business is protected, even in the worst-case scenarios.

Online Arbitrage and Wholesale - Do You Need Insurance?

Now, let's turn our attention to online arbitrage and wholesale.

These are two popular business models for eCommerce sellers, and they involve sourcing products from different suppliers and reselling them on marketplaces like Amazon.

But do sellers who use these models need product insurance?

According to Amit, the answer is a resounding yes.

"Even if you're an online arbitrage or wholesale seller, you still need product insurance," he says. "It doesn't matter if you're selling headphones or any other product - you need to be covered in case something goes wrong."

The reason for this is simple - as a seller, you're responsible for the products you sell.

If a customer experiences an issue with a product you sold them, they'll likely turn to you for a resolution.

And if you don't have insurance, you'll be left to deal with the financial consequences on your own.

But with product insurance, you can transfer that risk to the insurance carrier.

They'll handle any claims that arise, leaving you free to focus on growing your business.

Private Label VS Online Arbitrage And Wholesale

It's worth noting that there's a difference between private-label products and products sourced through online arbitrage and wholesale.

Private label products are manufactured by the sellers themselves, so they have more control over the quality and safety of the products.

As a result, they may not need as much insurance coverage as sellers who source products from multiple suppliers.

However, as Amit points out, even private label sellers need some level of insurance.

"If you manufacture something and a customer experiences an issue, you'll still be responsible for it," he says. "So you need to have insurance to protect your business."

What Kind Of Insurance Do You Need?

So, what kind of insurance do you need as an online arbitrage or wholesale seller?

According to Amit, an umbrella insurance policy is a good place to start.

This type of policy provides broad coverage for a range of risks, including product liability, property damage, and more.

"An umbrella policy is a good way to ensure that your business is covered for any eventuality," Amit explains. "It's a cost-effective way to get comprehensive coverage, and it can provide peace of mind for sellers who want to focus on growing their business."

Of course, the specific type of insurance you need will depend on the nature of your business and the types of products you sell.

That's why it's important to work with an insurance provider who understands the unique needs of eCommerce sellers.

If you're an Amazon online arbitrage or wholesale seller, you owe it to yourself to protect your business with the right insurance coverage.

The Bottom Line

In conclusion, product insurance is a crucial component of any eCommerce business, particularly for Amazon online arbitrage and wholesale sellers.

As discussed in this article, an umbrella insurance policy is a great way to get comprehensive coverage for a range of risks.

However, the specific type of insurance you need will depend on the nature of your business and the products you sell.

Unfortunately, Spott is no longer in business, as of now.
