Disclosure: Hi! It's Vova :) Some of the links in this article may be affiliate links. I get a commission if you purchase after clicking on the link, this does not cost you more money, and many times I can even get a nice discount for you. This helps me keep the content free forever. For you. Thank you! :)

Short answer, yes.

The SmartScout affiliate program is definitely worth it.

So far, I have made about $2,299 with this affiliate program. Even more as of right now!

In this guide, I want to give you a sincere and honest review of my experience.

I will explain exactly how it works, what you get, how you earn, and how you can make the most out of it if you decide to join.

Before we go deeper, let me quickly introduce myself.

My name is Vova Even, and I’ve been selling on Amazon since 2016.

I run my own Amazon business, and alongside that, I create free educational content for sellers through my website and YouTube channel.

Over the years, I’ve tested many tools, and SmartScout is one that I personally use in my own business.

I’m also a SmartScout affiliate.

That simply means if you ever decide to join the SmartScout affiliate program through my link and start making money, I’ll receive a small commission from SmartScout as well.

It doesn’t affect your earnings in any way.

Let me quickly explain how that works.

If you make $100 in commissions from SmartScout, you will receive $30.

That is your 30 percent recurring commission.

On top of that, SmartScout will give me an extra $5 as a bonus for referring you.

It does not come out of your $30.

You still get your full commission.

I just receive a small extra bonus from the company.

So it is a win for you and a small win for me as well.

Now let’s get back to the actual review.

So far, I have generated 318 clicks to SmartScout, 120 signups, and 81 paying customers.

From that activity, I have earned $2,299.

These numbers are real.

This is not a theory.

This is my actual experience over the past months promoting the tool.

What SmartScout Is and Why It Matters

SmartScout is a product research tool for Amazon sellers.

It is built for private label sellers, wholesale sellers, and online arbitrage sellers.

The company is led by Scott Needham, the founder and CEO.

If you want to know more about Scott’s background and how SmartScout started, read this: The Success Story Of Scott Needham - The Founder Of The Amazon Seller Software Called SmartScout

The tool has been growing steadily, adding more features and expanding its capabilities.

It is mainly focused on helping sellers understand products, brands, and opportunities inside the Amazon ecosystem.

If you want a full breakdown of how the tool works, I have recorded a 43-minute video together with Scott where we go deep into the platform.

In this video, we explore how to use SmartScout for product research and discuss the DNA of the company.

It is a very useful resource if you want to understand the product before promoting it.

For now, we are focusing on the affiliate side.

How Exactly Do You Earn with the SmartScout Affiliate Program?

The core of this program is the commission structure, and this is where it becomes interesting.

The program pays a 30 percent recurring commission.

That means if someone subscribes to SmartScout and keeps paying, whether monthly or yearly, you continue earning 30 percent for as long as they remain a customer.

Let’s keep it simple.

If someone signs up and pays $100 per month, you earn $30 per month.

If they stay subscribed for a year, you earn that $30 every single month.

If they renew next year, you keep earning.

That's what recurring means.

It's powerful because you are not constantly chasing one-time commissions.

Instead, you are building a stream of recurring income that can grow over time.

Now here is where it gets even more interesting.

There is also a 5 percent second-tier commission.

This applies when someone joins the SmartScout affiliate program through you and then starts generating sales themselves.

You receive 5 percent of their original sales as a bonus.

So you are not only earning from direct referrals.

You can also earn from sub-affiliates.

Let’s say someone joins the affiliate program through your link.

They start promoting SmartScout and make $1,000 in sales commissions.

You will receive 5 percent of that amount as an additional bonus, without reducing their earnings.

This makes the system more powerful because it allows you to build a small network.

You are earning from your own referrals and potentially from affiliates who join through you.

That is a nice structure in my opinion.

It also shows how valuable the right seller relationships can be. I've written about that more here: How To Make More Money On Amazon By Partnering With Other Amazon Sellers

One important thing to understand is that the earnings can vary month to month.

For example, in one month I earned around $274.

In another month, I had a bigger jump because someone purchased a yearly plan.

That resulted in a larger commission all at once.

Here, let me share an important point about monthly versus yearly plans.

Why Yearly Plans Can Increase Your Earnings

SmartScout offers different pricing plans, including monthly and yearly options.

When someone chooses a yearly plan, it is a bigger investment upfront.

For example, instead of paying around $100 per month, they might invest around $1,000 for the year.

From your perspective as an affiliate, this means a larger commission in one go.

If someone pays $1,000 for a yearly plan and your commission is 30 percent, that means you earn $300 from that one sale.

That is much stronger than earning $30 from a single monthly payment.

From the customer’s side, yearly plans often come with savings compared to monthly payments.

And because they are investing more upfront, they are usually more serious about using the tool.

That increases the chances that they will stay longer and re-subscribe next year.

And when they do so, you earn again.

So it becomes a win for both sides.

That’s why explaining the value of the yearly plan to your audience can make a difference in your long-term earnings.

Now let’s talk about the practical side.

You understand the commissions.

You understand the recurring structure.

But how do you actually promote SmartScout in a smart way?

How to Promote SmartScout

The SmartScout affiliate program runs through a platform called First Promoter.

That is where you log in and see your results.

Inside your dashboard, you can track your earnings, clicks, signups, and customers.

You can also create custom affiliate links to different pages on the SmartScout website, which is very cool I think.

You are not limited to just one homepage link.

You can generate links to different pages inside SmartScout’s website.

For example, you can create a link to the main homepage, the pricing page, a specific blog post, or even their wholesale course page.

Each link you create contains your tracking ID.

That means when someone clicks that specific link and later signs up, the sale is credited to you.

You can also create traffic sources and sub IDs.

What does that mean?

Let’s say you want to test where your conversions are coming from.

Maybe you have a YouTube channel, an email newsletter, and a Facebook group.

Instead of using the same link everywhere, you can create separate links or sub IDs for each traffic source.

For example, one link for YouTube.

One link for your email list.

And one link for Facebook.

This allows you to track performance more accurately and understand which channel is driving the most results.

That data helps you improve.

Promote More Pages Instead of Just the Homepage

One mistake affiliates sometimes make is only sending traffic to the main homepage.

You can do better than that.

Let’s say SmartScout publishes a strong blog post that explains a specific feature.

Or maybe they launch a wholesale course.

Instead of sending people to the homepage and hoping they find it, you can create a direct affiliate link to that exact page.

For example, if you have an email list of 100 Amazon sellers and you find a SmartScout article that is very relevant, you can send them that article directly with your affiliate link embedded.

The same applies to YouTube.

If you create a video about wholesale product research, you can place a link in the description that goes directly to the wholesale-related page inside SmartScout.

That is much more targeted than sending everyone to the front page.

The more relevant the link is to the content you are creating, the higher the chances of conversion.

Start With the Audience You Already Have

If you already have traffic, use it.

For me, that includes my website, my YouTube channel, and any other platforms where I create content.

If you have a newsletter, a blog, a Facebook group, or even an Instagram account, you can integrate your affiliate links naturally into your content.

The key is not to spam links.

Instead, create content that provides value first.

For example, you can write a blog post about Amazon product research and naturally mention that SmartScout is a tool you use.

Then include your affiliate link.

Or you can record a tutorial video showing how you personally use SmartScout inside your own Amazon business.

Then explain that if someone signs up through your link, you will earn a commission at no extra cost to them.

Transparency builds trust.

Take Advantage of SmartScout’s Content

Another advantage is that SmartScout itself produces useful content.

They publish blog posts, educational materials, and courses.

That gives you more assets to promote.

Instead of always creating everything from scratch, you can share high-quality content that already exists.

When you combine your own content with SmartScout’s resources, you create more opportunities for referrals.

The important thing is to align the link with the context.

If you are talking about pricing, send people to the pricing page.

If you are talking about wholesale, send them to the wholesale page.

If you are sharing a tutorial, link to the tutorial.

That is how you make your promotion more effective.

Create Your Own Coupon Code

Next, let’s talk about something that can significantly improve your conversions as an affiliate.

SmartScout allows you to provide your audience with a coupon code.

In my case, the code is VOVA25.

This code gives 25 percent off the first three months of a subscription.

This is powerful for two reasons.

First, it gives your audience a real financial incentive to try the tool.

Instead of just telling them it is useful, you are also helping them save money.

Second, it strengthens your tracking and attribution.

When someone uses your code, SmartScout can clearly track that the sale came through you.

The discount works for monthly plans and also for yearly plans.

That makes it flexible.

Whether someone wants to test it monthly or commit for a year, they can still use the coupon.

Build a Dedicated Landing Page for Your Offer

Another feature that helps with conversions is the dedicated landing page.

When someone clicks your affiliate link, they can be taken to a personalized landing page that shows the pricing and clearly displays the discount they are getting.

This matters because percentages can feel abstract.

If you tell someone, “You get 25 percent off,” they may not immediately understand how much they are saving.

But when they land on a page that clearly shows the discounted price, the savings become real and easy to understand.

That clarity improves trust and makes the decision easier for the customer.

Instead of calculating numbers in their head, they see exactly what they will pay.

The 90-Day Cookie

Now let’s talk about cookies.

SmartScout offers a 90-day cookie.

This means that when someone clicks your affiliate link, you have a 90-day window.

If they purchase within those 90 days, you receive credit for the sale.

This is important because not everyone buys immediately.

Some people will research.

Some will watch more videos.

Some will think about it for weeks.

The 90-day cookie gives you a fair time frame to still receive credit if they decide to join later.

In the affiliate world, 90 days is solid.

Some programs only offer 30 or 60 days.

A longer cookie window gives affiliates more confidence to promote.

It means your effort does not disappear if someone takes time to decide.

Bonus Earning Opportunities

Now let’s talk about the extra incentives inside the SmartScout affiliate program, because this is where things become even more interesting.

Beyond the 30 percent recurring commission and the 5 percent second-tier commission, SmartScout also offers bonus earning opportunities.

Opportunity #1

There is a tier-based reward system.

When you start earning at least $50 per month in commissions, you get access to the Essentials plan for free.

That means you can use the tool without paying for it yourself.

This is helpful because it allows you to create more content, test features, and promote the platform from real experience.

When you reach $150 per month, you get access to the Business plan.

As your earnings increase, the rewards grow.

If you make more than $250 per month, you receive an additional $50 bonus.

If you go over $500 in a month, you receive $100 extra.

Once you reach higher thresholds, like over $1,000 in monthly earnings, you can get access to the Enterprise plan and additional cash bonuses.

This structure creates momentum.

For example, if you are close to the $500 mark, you might push a little harder to cross it and unlock the extra $100 bonus.

It adds motivation and makes growth more exciting.

In my case, I have crossed some of these thresholds already.

It is encouraging to see the progress and receive additional rewards on top of normal commissions.

Opportunity #2

After you generate 10 customers, you unlock something called BIDS.

This is a special incentive system.

With BIDS, you can propose a promotional activity or piece of content and submit it for approval.

If SmartScout approves your proposal, you can receive a bonus payout for creating that content.

For example, you might propose writing a detailed 5,000-word blog post featuring SmartScout.

Or you might suggest creating a series of educational videos.

You submit your idea and request a specific bonus amount.

If approved, you get paid for that effort in addition to your affiliate commissions.

This is powerful because it allows you to monetize your time and creativity directly.

Instead of only earning when someone signs up, you can also earn for producing high-quality promotional content.

I have already submitted some of my blog posts for BIDS consideration.

I am currently waiting for feedback.

The process is active and it shows that the company wants to support affiliates who are putting in real effort.

Contests and Leaderboards

Another thing I appreciate about the SmartScout affiliate program is that it does not feel static.

They regularly run affiliate contests, which adds an extra layer of energy to the whole experience.

For example, in one of the contests, the goal was to drive 10 new customers within a specific month.

I focused on it, pushed a bit harder with my content, and managed to hit that target.

I ended up placing third.

The prize options were Apple AirPods, a fitness tracker, or $100 in cash.

I chose the $100, which was a nice little bonus on top of the regular commissions.

It might not sound life-changing, but these small competitions make the process more engaging.

Instead of just watching numbers in a dashboard, you feel like you are part of something active.

It pushes you to create better content and reach more people.

They also have an affiliate leaderboard.

While not every detail is fully public, it adds a sense of progress and community.

You can see that others are building alongside you, which creates a healthy competitive spirit.

Overall, these extras show that SmartScout is not just running an affiliate program quietly in the background.

They are actively engaging with affiliates, rewarding effort, and encouraging growth.

That makes the entire experience feel more dynamic and supported.

My Promotion Tips

If you want to succeed with this affiliate program, here is my honest advice.

First, use the tool yourself.

The more familiar you are with SmartScout, the easier it becomes to explain its value.

Second, create dedicated content.

You can make tutorial videos, write blog posts, or even create a free mini course explaining how to use SmartScout.

For example, you could create 10 YouTube lessons showing different features of the tool.

In every piece of content, include a clear and honest call to action.

Tell your audience that your link is an affiliate link.

Explain that if they sign up through you, you will earn a commission at no extra cost to them.

As I said, transparency builds trust.

Third, leverage your existing traffic.

If you already have a blog, YouTube channel, email list, or social media presence, integrate your affiliate links naturally into your content.

Do not spam.

Provide value first.

Then introduce the tool as a solution.

For me, all my content is free.

I do not have paid courses.

My blog and YouTube channel are open resources.

Affiliate marketing is what supports the work I do.

When someone signs up through my link, it allows me to continue creating free content.

That makes it a win-win.

The Bottom Line

As of now, I have earned $2,299 promoting SmartScout. Even more, but that's the figure I had earned while recodring the video about SmartScout affiliate program. You can scroll up to see it.

This was achieved over several months, from around September to July.

With the commission rate now increased from 25 percent to 30 percent recurring, the earning potential is even stronger going forward.

If things continue at this pace, I expect to cross the $3,000 mark soon.

So, if I circle back to the main question: Is the SmartScout affiliate program worth it?

Based on my experience, it’s a big yes!

It offers recurring income, second-tier commissions, bonus incentives, contests, and a solid product behind it.

If you are already creating Amazon-related content or helping sellers, it can fit naturally into your ecosystem.
