As the term implies, group buying refers to purchasing a tool collectively.

For instance, if there are 10 Amazon FBA sellers that need to use Jungle Scout on a daily basis, they can pool their resources and buy one tool to share.

Thereby, instead of paying $69/month individually, they can pay $6.9/user.

Doesn’t sound bad, right?

Now before you make up your mind, here are a few things why you should or shouldn’t consider doing that:

First is safety.

Why it is a concern is because you are not paying to the Jungle Scout itself but to a third party.

Do you know who you are buying from?

Is it an official company or a reliable person?

If you trust the person or the company, and everything seems legit, then you may go ahead.

The second thing is you wouldn’t have full access to the software but to some parts of it.

Here’s why: There are many features of Jungle Scout that require a connection with an Amazon Seller Central account to be able to use.

Take the accounting section, Jungle Scout Sales Analytics, as an example that helps you realize if your Amazon business is profitable or not.

It directly connects to your Seller Central account in order to pull out the data for you.

Should you do so?

I don't recommend it since a group account has several users who all have access to information that should be private to you.

If you want to reveal your data, that's OK, but most people don't.

They don't want anyone to see their numbers or accounts.

The next thing is again not something good, in my opinion.

Let's say you're tracking some keywords with Jungle Scout or searching for products.

Your search phrases will be visible to other group members, who may take credit for your ideas or perhaps steal them altogether.

So, if you discovered a wonderful product concept that's easy to target even for a novice and doesn't require a lot of money to get started, then everybody in the group will be able to look into that and explore it further.

Now, if you’re serious about your business, you would have figured correctly that I will never advise you to group buy Jungle Scout.

Instead, you may save money by purchasing the tool at a discount.
