Believe me when I say that this mistake cost me a whopping forty thousand dollars.


My partner and I were so convinced that our product was beautiful; it would grab attention and drive sales.


But here's where we went wrong – we never asked external audiences what they thought.


See, whether it's your first product or your twenty-fifth, it's essential to gather feedback before launching.


Find out if people like your design or prefer an alternative.


Here's a quick tip that turned things around for us:


We conducted market surveys with a group of 100 people.


We'd ask them questions like, 'Do you prefer this picture or that design for the product?'


When we ventured into the barbecue space with a new product, we even included our main competitor's design as an option.


The audience's response was eye-opening. Initially, 70% of them preferred our competitor's design, while only 30% leaned toward ours.


But here's the magic – we read what the 70% had to say about why they liked the competitor's design, and we implemented those insights into our product.


We lost again in the next round, but it was 60-40 this time.


We refined our design once more, and guess what?


We finally won with an 80-20 preference rate in our favor.


Armed with this improved design, we confidently launched our product, and it's been successfully selling ever since.

Don't make the same costly mistake I did.


Always seek feedback from your potential customers before you launch.
