In this article, I will guide you on how to use AMZScout Stock Stats Chrome Extension, by AMZScout, step-by-step, walk you through all of its features, enlighten you about when it works and when it does not work, and explain how it helps you with Amazon FBA product research.

Before we get into the details of it, the Stock Stats Chrome extension helps you see the stock amount of a given product. 

So, for example, if a product has 500 units in stock today, and the next day it has 480 units, that means it sold 20 units.

In short, this is a great tool for keeping track of products, analyzing sales, and determining whether a business is worth getting into.

What is AMZScout Stock Stats Chrome Extension and How it Works

To get started, you need to click on the Chrome extension, and a window pops open. 

It covers pretty much what the product is all about – its ASIN, the Best Seller rank, who’s selling it, how much it has in stock, and more.

This also tells you how many of the units it has in stock. 

For some specific products or for a specific way their listing is made, it won’t be possible to use this Chrome Extension. Let me show you what that means! 

For the product in the image, i.e., imarku Chef Knife, if you click on quantity, you’ll see that the seller has blocked the option of selling more than five units of the product.

This is done for different reasons, including anti-hijacking, margin issues, etc., so the seller puts a limit as the aforementioned seller kept it to 5 knives per person at one time. 

So, this one inside the seller central blocks the option of the AMZScout Stock Stats from working fine.

If the maximum quantity were to be 3, it would show 3 in the stock stats instead of the 5 you can see in the image. Once again, it won’t work in this scenario. 

Now, let’s look at when the Chrome Extension works:

For the next product, i.e., STEINBRUCKE Chef Knife, the minimum quantity is 30. As far as my experience goes, usually on Amazon, the maximum amount you can order is 30.

Once it’s 30, this means that the seller hasn’t specified the specific maximum amount of the product. 

When you click on the AMZScout Stock Stats for this product, you can see that it says the product has 139 units in stock. 

As a seller, the best thing you can do is to write down this number and come every day to check if it has changed.

So, for instance, if this becomes 120 the next day, you can infer that 19 units were sold in a day.

The best part about this method is that it’s super accurate because it helps you see the specific amount of products, which is exactly what gives it an edge over the sales estimator method. 

The third example we have is the Scott ComfortPlus Toilet Paper, as you can see in the picture below:

Essentially, this one is a kind of product many people sell – some do wholesale, arbitrage, etc. As you can see, we have this product from 5 different sellers here. 

And if you click on Stock Stats, it lets you take a detailed view of all the sellers. 

But what can you do to make sure it works right? Well, we’ll work with the 999 method.

To do this, click on 5 new sellers from $42.15. Then, add the first product to the cart. By doing this, you’ll have one unit of the product in your cart. 

Then, click on the cart again and then click on quantity. If you type 999 in the quantity section, it gives you an error, which you can see in the image below: 

To see more available from the seller, you’ll have to go to the product detail page. 

In a nutshell, if a product’s minimum order quantity lies anywhere from 5-29, then the seller has limited units in stock.

However, if it’s 30, then usually on Amazon, it means that there’s no limit for it. 

So, for products that have limitations, like the imarku Chef Knife we saw earlier, you can’t use this Chrome Extension.

But, for others, it’s a great tool to help you ace the trade game!
