How To Download, Install, and Use AMZScout Pro Chrome Extension
Oh, and here's just a heads up: Throughout this article, I refer to a "kitchen knife" as an example product.
If there's anything unclear, I encourage you to either watch the video below that inspired this article or leave a comment on it.
I will do my best to answer your questions at my earliest. 😉
1st Free Chrome Extension: Helium 10
Helium 10 is an all-inclusive software suite for Amazon FBA sellers.
Hunt profitable products.
Spy on your competitors.
Find high-volume competitive keywords. Optimize your product listings.
Get refunds and do a lot more.
Helium 10 provides all these services.
The Xray extension by Helium 10 is mainly for product research and product validation on Amazon.
In order to use Helium 10's extension, you need download and install Free Helium 10 Chrome extension on your browser.
I explain how to do it, scroll down a bit.
Helium 10 offers four types of pricing plans – Starter plan, Platinum plan, Diamond plan, Elite plan – including a custom, A La Carte offer. If you're not a beginner, I suggest going for the Platinum or Diamond plan because they include more features to meet your emerging needs.
My Related Blog Post: Helium 10 A La Carte Plan Review – Read Before Buying
Still, if you're unsure, the video below stacks up both plans (Platinum & Diamond) against each other.
I suggest you watch it now.
It will help you make an informed decision. :)
Now, let's get back to the extension and take a look at what it has to offer.
I assume that you've already downloaded and enabled it.
But if you haven't and are unsure how to do so, don't fret.
Check out my step-by-step guide on how to download and install the Helium 10 Chrome extension.
1. Xray – A Product Research Tool
Xray is the first tool of the Helium 10 Chrome extension.
When you run it on Amazon, it compiles all the products shown on the given page and displays their performance against a variety of criteria in a table.
The criteria include various factors.
To name a few, there's total revenue, search volume, average price, and review rating.
This information helps you assess your chance of successfully penetrating a niche.
For example, suppose that you wish to explore the niche of "kitchen knives."
Simply search "kitchen knife" on Amazon and launch Xray.
It will evaluate all products on the page and scrape their facts & figures in the form of a table.
You can utilize this information to compare products and select the one that meets your needs.
Feel free to skip the sponsored items because their sellers pay to have them placed in the top positions, and the total revenue etc does not count paid placements.
Xray also tells the number of active sellers on a given listing.
The price of the item, its fees, ASIN, dimensions, weight, size tier, the sales that it makes per month, the sales graphs, the revenue it makes, and much more.
One interesting thing I'd like to share about the sales graph is that you can analyze it for multiple timeframes – starting with the shortest of seven days.
You can switch between 7-day, 30-day, 90-day, annual, and all-time sales graphs.
Plus, there is a trend line that shows sales fluctuation over time.
If you want to learn more, I have embedded an in-depth Helium 10 Chrome extension tutorial here, and below.
Watch it to see how I used Xray to analyze products.
And here's a tutorial that shows you how to use each part of the extension.
Some other mention-worthy features of Xray include BSR, review velocity, and images.
I've briefly explained each of them below.
Based on a product's average sales rate on Amazon, Helium 10 assigns it a unique BSR or the Best Seller Rank.
Unlike search volume, rating, and review counts, BSR is deemed better if lower.
Essentially, the lower the BSR, the higher the product's sales.
Next is the review velocity, which indicates the number of reviews a product has received in the past 30 days.
If you discover a product or market sector with few reviews, it may indicate that its sellers are unaware of how to get them.
And if you know how to do so, you have a great opportunity to enter the niche and stand out.
======================================
-: Interesting Offer :-
I'm offering three eBooks—including The Review Harvester's Booklet, which contains 15 secret ways of getting reviews on Amazon—and three courses valued at over $1200, all free for a limited time.
======================================
Images, on the contrary, indicate the number of photos a listing has.
If you find a market segment where the majority of items have few images, that might be a positive indicator.
Why? Because you can sell a product with more images than usual.
This will give you a competitive edge by offering more perceived value to your prospects.
They will be able to understand your product better and might even decide to make a purchase.
I, however, advise not to put too much stock in the Xray table.
The reason is twofold. First, Xray is just a tool – not smarter than you.
Second, there are many other factors to consider when deciding whether or not a product is worth investing in.
Also Helium 10 offers a free account and trial + great discounts.
Get all this good stuff here.
2. ASIN Grabber
The next part of the Helium 10 Chrome extension is the ASIN Grabber.
All items that are listed on Amazon receive an exclusive number called an ASIN or Amazon Standard Identification Number.
It's like the NIC number (national identity number) that differentiates you from the rest.
ASIN Grabber allows you to capture the ASINs of all products on a given page.
You can download the list as a CSV file and then copy any or all ASINs when needed.
But why would you do that?
You might ask.
Let me tell you!
There are many different ways to play with the ASIN Grabber, but mostly it comes in handy when you want to find competitor keywords through Cerebro.
You can plug all the ASINs into other Helium Cerebro that you take from the Grabber.
You'll get all the keyword data from them.
Cerebro is a keyword research tool by Helium 10.
If you're interested, I have embedded a detailed tutorial on Cerebro below.
It's a part of my Free Amazon Listing Optimization Course, where I walk you through the whole process of creating and optimizing product listings.
There is another tutorial of Cerebro that I have, it shows you step by step all of the parts of the Cerebro and how to use them.
Very helpful.
3. Profitability Calculator
As the name suggests, the Profitability Calculator gives you a general idea of how much a certain product will make you in profit.
In order to use this incredible tool, you need to enter a listing.
In my video, I picked up a chef knife, but you should select a product that interests you.
Once you've opened a product listing, launch the Profitability Calculator using the Helium 10 Chrome extension.
It will instantly scrape all the relevant product data from Amazon and calculate the net profit, margin, and ROI out of this.
The Profitability Calculator allows you to modify specific data, such as weight, size, price, and fee.
But note that if you change the numbers, the bottom line will also change.
I like looking at products that have at least 300% ROI and over 40% margin.
In my case, products like that, after all the expenses, give about a 20% margin; again, in my case.
Wanna see my real profits on Amazon?
Here's a video!
4. Inventory Levels
It helps you see the stock of a given product in real-time.
A similar tool is Stock Stats by AMZScout.
Inventory Level is another tool that requires you to open a listing before being able to use it.
However, it does not work on all products.
Plus, you don't always get the right numbers out of it.
Why is this? Because some sellers don't allow anyone to view how many units they have in stock.
You might ask, if there's no such issue and you're able to see the right inventory level of a product, how would this be useful?
Here's how: If you see a listing with 800 units in stock, you can track it regularly to see how many sales it makes per day.
For example, if the average daily differential is 15 out of 800, this indicates the particular product makes 15 sales per day. 800 today, 785 tomorrow.
15 sales.
5. Review Insights
Review Insights (Review Downloader) is one of the best parts of the Helium 10 Chrome extension.
Let me explain to you why.
It allows you to scrape specific reviews of any given listing.
For instance, you can extract only one-star reviews.
Then, you can add filters to those reviews per specific criteria like date range, buyer's authenticity, and the presence of images.
Feel free to fiddle with the filters.
This can help you have a better understanding of your clientele.
Just as an example, imagine reading 1-2 star reviews with images.
If you look closely enough, you will be able to pinpoint the exact spots where the customers are having problems.
Then you can make your product better based on what people complain about, but also about what they adore (based on 5-star reviews).
Incredible, right?
3-4 star reviews usually carry gold nuggets in them too.
People are OK with the product but usually recommend something that is missing or could be improved.
Here's a video that shows you how to use this specific part.
Many people argue that what Review Insights does can also be done manually.
But my answer to them is that the manual process is quite labor-intensive.
Especially if the count is high, Review Downloader truly comes into its own.
With that said, the Helium 10 Chrome extension finally comes to a close.
If you are interested in using this extension for free, simply click here.
Finally, I welcome you to check my detailed Helium 10 tutorial, there I cover all the Helium 10 tools and show you how they work.

2nd Free Chrome Extension: AMZ Suggestion Expander
AMZ Suggestion Expander is a Chrome extension developed by Raybek Solutions.
As the name suggests, it provides additional search possibilities in the Amazon search bar.
Let's understand this with the help of an example!
Suppose that you are looking for a lucrative kitchen knife.
Install the AMZ Suggestion Expander extension and search "kitchen knife" on Amazon.
As you type, the extension will populate your search bar with various keyword suggestions to consider and test out.
AMZ Suggestion Expander is also beneficial in product research as you can niche down with it.
For example, the keyword recommendations of "kitchen knife" may lead you to discover the term "serrated kitchen knife" or "kitchen knife forged" is more relevant to what you're looking for.
AMZ Suggestion Expander enables you to go further into your niche and uncover keywords that appeal to the demands of a specific audience.
It's quite simple to install for free. All you need to do is click here, and press Add to Chrome.
The extension will take only a few seconds to install, and then you will be able to use it any time for free on any Amazon search.
3rd Free Chrome Extension: Viral Launch Chrome Extension
Viral Launch Market Intelligence Chrome extension is almost the same as Helium 10.
So I'll provide you with a quick walkthrough.
To get started, you need to download and install the Viral Launch Chrome extension.
Once done, navigate to your Amazon search page and launch the extension.
A window like Helium 10 Xray will appear.
My Related Blog Post: Viral Launch Free Account And Trial (How To Get Free Access)
On the top bar, you will get an estimated search volume and a product idea score.
Then there will be selected product averages, such as review count, review rating, monthly sales, and product pricing.
At the bottom, you'll have four main options to choose from and look into.
Namely, there will be Top Sellers, Market Trends, Viral Launch (VL) Analysis, and a Cost Calculator.
Here's a brief rundown into each:
1. Top Sellers
This feature provides insights into the best sellers in the category.
The goal is to help you find out the products your prospective competitors sell for certain keywords.
You can, then, identify bottlenecks in their strategy and provide better products and service to win them over.
Viral Launch allows you to visualize top sellers from two perspectives – Standard and Detailed.
Standard View is virtually identical to Helium 10 Xray.
It provides product-specific analysis with more depth.
The table includes all the basic metrics, such as rank, brand name, title, category, BSR, and sales.
As well there are some distinctive features.
For example, in addition to sponsored items (SP), Viral Launch displays editorial recommendations (ER) made by Amazon.
Besides that, the ROI ratio, past and projected revenues, expected sales, and listing dates are also retrieved.
Viral Launch utilizes smart algorithms to calculate these quantities.
Though they may not be 100% accurate, they can give you a sense of how much money you may make from selling a given product, and could you even compete in a given niche at all.
Moving on to the Detailed View, which provides a broader perspective.
The metrics include top statistics, top 10 listings, and what it takes to be on the first page.
With this, you can estimate the average number of reviews, their rating, revenue, sales, and pricing required to rank well.
But how is it beneficial?
Because it gives you a chance to think about your budget.
If not, you risk starting to spend money to reach these objectives and eventually going broke.
2. Market Trends
Market Trends allows you to take a bird's eye view of an entire niche.
It shows the best-selling period, the average price over the last 90 days, the review rate, and annual sales trends (year over year).
The sales trends are specifically shown in a graph.
You can hover over any point on the graph to see the months in which sales peak and drop.
But how may this help?
Let's say a product has the best-ever sales in December.
This may indicate the reason was Christmas.
So, if you sell that product during the holiday season, there will be a strong chance for you to generate a huge income.
In the same way, you can contemplate why the sales fell or rose in specific months and make informed decisions.
You can also understand if a product is seasonal, let's say it had peak sales during the summer months, but all the other months it's barely selling.
You can also use Google Trends to check seasonality.
3. VL Analysis
VL Analysis covers the evaluation of a niche by Viral Launch (thus called "VL" Analysis).
It consists of four main features.
The first one is the Product Idea Score, which essentially lets you choose if you should continue investigating a niche or seek out alternative ideas.
The second is Possible Monthly Sales, which is exactly what it sounds like – expected monthly sales.
The third feature is Reviews Needed to Sell Well, i.e., how many reviews you need to penetrate into a niche successfully.
The fourth and last one is the Next Sales Pattern Analysis.
It reveals the sales fluctuations over time.
VL Analysis also offers suggestions, warnings, and/or alerts for every niche.
In my video, I looked for a kitchen knife, and VL Analysis provided me with a tip and an alert.
Both were interesting; I would actually want to cite them.
Tip: There are products with a high review rating. Be sure to take your time to source a high-quality product.
Alert: The average review volume is extremely high, which makes a high barrier to entry.
This suggests that if you enter the kitchen knife market with a product having low ratings, it would be harder for you to make your space.
Again, my Review Harvester's Booklet can help you, as it outlines 15 tried-and-true ways of getting more reviews faster.
I've already provided the link up above, but in case you missed it, click here.
4. Cost Calculator
The cost Calculator enables you to determine costs based on a variety of factors.
For example, the amount required to invest in a niche and your potential to succeed in it.
You can set goals where you want to be.
Input your rank strategy, success rate, initial units ordered, estimated monthly units, sales price, and sales projection.
Cost Calculator can also help you define pricing for software services and product marketing.
Feel free to play with the options available.
It will provide you with projected costs in accordance with the parameters you specify.
Viral Launch Exclusive Coupon Codes
Now we get to the good stuff, which you've probably been waiting for.
So, let me come right out and tell you that I have a special discount code, "VOVA" for Viral Launch.
It will save you 20% per month or 40% per year, plus two free months of subscription.
Click here to take advantage of the deal now!
Of course, the extension itself is free to use, but the paid version grants you more usage of Viral Launch as a whole.
4th Free Chrome Extension: Amazon Keyword Tool By SellerApp
Next on my list of must-have Chrome extensions is Amazon Keyword Tool.
It is useful for conducting keyword research.
You don't really need to go to Amazon to be able to use this extension.
It can be used directly.
To get started, install the free Amazon Keyword Tool on your Chrome, and open it.
A window will appear wherein you'll be able to input your keyword and Amazon marketplace.
Let's say the keyword is "kitchen knife," and the marketplace is amazon.com.
Input your information and then click the "Generate Keywords" button.
The Amazon Keyword Tool will generate an extensive list of keyword suggestions along with their respective ranks.
Kitchen knife electric.
Kitchen knife German steel.
Kitchen knife long style.
Kitchen knife with magnetic holder.
These are just a few examples.
The list will further help you with your keyword and product research.
How? By enabling you to niche down and find a targeted audience to address.
Also, you'll be able to build your listing from these keywords.
If a keyword seems appealing, but you're unsure what it is, you may even do a Google search or check out the trend on Amazon to see what type of products arise.
5th Free Chrome Extension: AMZScout Pro
AMZScout Pro is similar to Helium 10 Xray and Viral Launch Market Intelligence but has extra features.
I'd love to discuss all of them now.
However, first, get the AMZScout Pro extensione for your browser.
Or, if you prefer a step-by-step guide, refer to the link below. :)
My Related Blog Post: How To Download, Install, and Use AMZScout Pro Chrome Extension
Once you've downloaded the AMZScout Pro extension, visit Amazon and search your keyword.
The extension will instantly scrape all the facts and figures in a table-like format.
I've broken it down in the text below.
Also, if you need a detailed AMZScout Pro extension tutorial, here ya go.
On the top bar – the header – you will get the total number of results as well as averages for monthly sales, ranking, price, and customer feedback.
There will also be three unique elements, including Saturation Score, Niche Score, and Niche History.
The Saturation Score indicates the number of sellers who discovered this niche within the given month.
If the number is high, it will be difficult to carve out a place for yourself in the market.
For example, in my case, I searched for a "kitchen knife" in February.
AMZScout Pro showed that ten other sellers searched for the same query this month.
You might reason that 10 is not a big number.
But let's say it was 50, then I would be more cautious about entering the market.
Why? Because I will know that many others are already considering the same niche.
And this is the search count on AMZScout Pro alone.
There might be more searches on other platforms like Helium 10 and Viral Launch.
By encouraging you to reflect back, we can assert that Saturation Score also sheds light on how a niche performs.
You can use this information to determine your likelihood of effectively infiltrating a niche.
The second, Niche Score, gives you extra suggestions for refining your search.
It provides insights on expected profits, demand, and competition as well.
Let me explain!
For the keyword "kitchen knife," the Niche Score was 5 out of 10.
The profit margin was low, demand was great, and the competition was very strong.
This rating was backed up with proper pros and cons.
Thus, I was able to see why the margin was low, the demand great, and the competition fierce.
As a seller operating in the sector, I could also empathize with this information.
However, results change over time and vary between industries.
You can check your niche on the extension; I am sure you will find it helpful, but remember that it's a program shooting this info at you; verify it by researching the niche.
Next is Niche History.
It illustrates the evolution of your niche's sales, ranking, and pricing over time via graphs.
You can check all graphs together or separately to get a full picture of how each sector is performing.
Besides the Niche History, there's a hamburger menu with further choices.
The first one is "Options," which allows you to add or delete columns and header parameters.
The second element is "Hints," which facilitates table navigation.
The third one is "FAQs," aka frequently asked questions, and the fourth is "About," meant to let you learn more about AMZScout.
Below the header is a table with almost all elements covered in prior extensions.
For instance, we already know what the product name, brand, rank, price, fees, margin, sales, revenue, and review count is.
So, let me skip to the unique features.
1. Mark any Product as Favorite
This does not require much explanation, yet it is a great option.
You can select any product as a favorite, saving it in an exclusive list accessible with a single click.
2. Product Score
You can determine how well a product satisfies the main FBA criteria.
AMZScout Pro shows this by assigning each product a score.
A product with a higher score matches the criteria more closely.
But You can click on the score to get deeper insights.
My suggestion would be to get the idea but don't completely rely on it.
Do your own in-depth research before reaching a conclusion.
For example, if a product's rating is "3," click on it to find out why.
Let's say the reason is that a lot of reviews are required, and your competitors have highly optimized listings.
Now your challenge is to surpass them.
Yes, it may be difficult, but not impossible, especially with a well-planned approach.
Therefore, you must conduct thorough research to see whether a niche is suitable for you.
3. Monthly Revenue Per Review (RPR)
This distinctive feature reveals the monthly revenue a product generates for each review it has.
Let's say you have $5000 in sales and 50 reviews.
Your revenue per review is 100$.
The higher RPR is, the better the analyzed product performs, even with lower reviews, in a given niche.
4. Listing Quality Score (LQS)
LQS rates the quality of a listing out of 100.
You can hover over the number to see how it was calculated.
A check mark denotes that the criterion was satisfied, whereas a cross denotes that it wasn't.
Below the table is the footer, which has further choices.
You can move on to the next page.
Refresh the existing page's information.
Add filters, i.e., price range, rank, weight, fulfillment type, net margin, etc.
See Google trends.
Identify niche keywords with their density and export this list as a CSV.
I've discussed keyword density in detail in my free Helium 10 listing optimization course on Udemy.
The footer also has the option to export the entire table as a CSV.
There's a tutorial by the AMZScout Pro team to help you learn more about the tool.
A feedback option to report possible bugs or give suggestions.
An unusual option to get niche ideas.
There's a button that, when you click, takes you to a new Amazon page with a random keyword.
This way, you can eventually end up finding a great product to sell.
The last but not the least option is a star icon that allows you to see all items you marked favorite.
AMZScout Pro Exclusive Coupon Codes
Finally, the time comes to discuss the meatiest part of the extension.
AMZScout provided me with a link that grants 11 dollars off a lifetime extension membership plus a free Amazon course for beginners worth $50.
Click here to avail of the offer now!
Final Thoughts
All extensions I discussed here are excellent.
And each of them stands out owing to its own distinct features.
In fact, if you were to ask me to recommend just one, I would suggest trying them all!
Why? Because they're all useful and free of charge! Use them.
Play with them.
See which one provides the most accurate results, then pick the most helpful extension and put your money into it.
If you're still on the fence about what to do, I have a playlist that compares and contrasts Helium 10, Jungle Scout, and Viral Launch with each other.
I haven't compared other tools, but it will serve as a fair baseline for you.
So click on the thumbnail below to access it now and make an informed decision.
Alternatively, if you're interested in learning about other free resources for Amazon FBA, the video below is a must-watch!
