Helium 10 Seller Assistant Review: Update & Alternatives

In this guide
THE QUICK ANSWER
What is Helium 10 Seller Assistant?
Helium 10 Seller Assistant was a free Chrome extension for requesting Amazon reviews in batches from Seller Central. It reduced repetitive clicks, but Helium 10 has discontinued it. The current alternatives are Amazon’s native Request a Review feature and Helium 10 Follow-Up. Read Helium 10’s official status update before following an older installation tutorial.
When you are managing products, advertising, and inventory, opening individual orders to request feedback can become another unfinished task. That is why I originally recorded this Seller Assistant walkthrough: it showed a simple way to make the process easier.
I have been selling on Amazon since late 2016. In the video, I demonstrate the extension inside Seller Central and explain why consistency matters. This updated guide preserves that experience while separating the old workflow from what I would recommend checking today.
The useful goal is straightforward: give eligible buyers an opportunity to share honest feedback without spending your day clicking through orders. A request creates an opportunity; the customer still decides whether to review.

How Seller Assistant worked in my original video
The original appeal was convenience. Instead of repeating the same action for every order, I could load a page of orders and start a batch of review requests. Here is the sequence shown in the recording, for readers comparing it with an older installation.
- Install the extension. The Helium 10 download page led to the Chrome Web Store. After installation, Seller Assistant appeared in Chrome’s extensions menu. In that recording, the extension was free to use.
- Open Seller Central. I went to the order-management area and opened the extension. It requested access before adding its review-request controls to the page. The demonstration shows that permission step.
- Display more orders. I selected 100 results per page so the batch could cover more visible orders. This was a page-size setting, not a promise that 100 customers would write reviews.
- Start the batch. I clicked “Request Reviews On This Page” and watched the sending counter advance. The extension handled the repeated requests while I kept the order page open.
At around 2:08, I recommend returning regularly so eligible orders do not get forgotten. That remains a useful operating habit even when the software changes. A tool saves effort only when someone understands how it fits into the business.
Later, I leave a short review of the extension itself. That is my opinion from the original demonstration, not a measured case study. The video does not establish a guaranteed increase in product reviews, sales, or average star rating.

Amazon’s Request a Review guidance allows the feature once per order, between 5 and 30 days after delivery. In my recording, I hesitate between purchase and delivery and mention four days. Use Amazon’s delivery-based rule for the current workflow.
For an eligible order, the standard message requests both a product review and seller feedback. Amazon also localizes it to the buyer’s preferred language. You do not need to invent a persuasive email or ask the customer for a particular rating.
Amazon already requests reviews on sellers’ behalf, so an additional seller-managed process is optional. If you use one, check whether another service has already handled the order before sending anything.
Keep requests neutral
Ask for honest feedback. Do not select only happy buyers or request five stars.
Keep rewards separate
Do not exchange gifts, discounts, refunds, or rebates for reviews. Do not ask buyers to change negative reviews.
Amazon explains these boundaries in its customer reviews guidance and product review FAQ.
Seller Assistant vs Seller Central vs Follow-Up
Choose around your workload. A seller with occasional orders may prefer a simple manual routine. Someone handling a growing order queue may benefit from automation, provided there is still a person checking the results.
| Method | How it works | Current consideration |
|---|---|---|
| Seller Assistant | Browser-based batches in the original video. | Discontinued; historical reference only. |
| Amazon Seller Central | Request a Review on an eligible order’s details page. | No additional Helium 10 subscription needed. |
| Helium 10 Follow-Up | Manual requests and configured automations. | Requires eligible access and setup. |
My recommendation is to establish one clear owner and one request method before adding complexity. If an assistant manages orders, document who checks requests so the same task does not get repeated by two people.
Before buying software specifically for this task, estimate how much time the manual process actually takes. Write down your approximate monthly order volume, the time spent reviewing orders, and whether you already pay for other Helium 10 features. That gives you a practical comparison between the cost of a plan and the work it could remove.
For example, someone with a small product catalog and a handful of weekly orders might be comfortable checking Seller Central themselves. A team processing orders across several products may care more about consistent ownership and visibility. These are decision examples, not thresholds at which every seller should upgrade.
I would avoid choosing a plan purely because its email allowance sounds impressive. Start with the work you need completed, then compare the available capacity. Buying more capacity does not itself create more demand for your products or make customers more likely to share feedback.
How to move your review requests to Follow-Up
Follow-Up is Helium 10’s recommended replacement. Seller Assistant preferences do not migrate automatically, so plan a fresh setup. Start by connecting the correct Amazon account and completing the authorization shown in your Helium 10 dashboard.
- Open Follow-Up → Email Automation and select New Automation.
- Choose Request a Review with Amazon’s default template.
- Check timing, marketplace, and product scope. Keep delivery-based eligibility in mind when the interface displays order-based delays.
- Save the configuration, confirm it is active, and inspect the resulting queue.
Follow the official setup instructions for current screen details. New automations are not retroactive. Eligible earlier orders can be handled through manual requests, which enter a queue rather than necessarily sending immediately.
For a longer walkthrough, read my Helium 10 Follow-Up guide. The related video below introduces the approach; use current documentation when its interface differs.
Build a review routine you can actually maintain
The strongest lesson from my original video is consistency. I would choose a regular review day and use a short checklist. With manual requests, that means checking eligible orders. With automation, it means checking whether the system is doing the intended work.
Keep a simple record of the period reviewed, the method used, and any unresolved issue. You do not need a complicated reporting system. A few clear notes help another team member understand what happened without repeating requests.
Open my practical weekly checklist
- Confirm the account, marketplace, and dates you are reviewing.
- Inspect request statuses and investigate unexpected gaps.
- Check for overlapping tools or a teammate doing the same task.
- Read new feedback for recurring product or packaging problems.
- Write down one improvement and who will handle it.
Compare similar periods before judging results. If sales double, more reviews may follow even without a workflow change. If you receive fewer orders, a lower review count does not automatically mean the request system failed.
I would also separate requests sent from reviews received. They measure different things. Neither a sending counter nor a busy dashboard proves customers found the product useful. Repeated complaints about sizing, instructions, or durability deserve action beyond another email.
A simple example of reading the numbers
Imagine that you record 200 delivered orders and six new product ratings in one reporting period. In the next comparable period, you record 400 delivered orders and twelve new ratings. The rating count doubled, but both periods have the same simple ratio: three ratings per hundred delivered orders.
These are hypothetical figures, not results from my store or a Helium 10 benchmark. They show why a rising review count needs context. You cannot conclude that your new request method became twice as effective when the number of delivered orders also doubled.
There is another limitation: a rating received this week may relate to an earlier order, and some customers review without a seller request. Treat this comparison as a broad trend, not proof that an individual message caused a particular rating. Keep dates and product scope consistent, and investigate unusual changes before changing your setup.
Finally, read the words customers use. If several buyers misunderstand the same feature, clearer listing copy or better instructions may be the next useful improvement. Record that observation separately from your request statistics so customer feedback becomes something the team can act on.
What to check when review requests are not sending
First identify which tool you are using. Troubleshooting the old Seller Assistant button is different from checking a current Follow-Up automation. For Follow-Up, inspect the reason shown beside the request status before changing settings.
- Timing or duplication: the order may be outside the eligible delivery window, or a request may already have been sent.
- Account connection: an inactive connection or incomplete order data can prevent processing.
- Sending allowance: your account may have reached its available email quota.
- Order status: canceled orders do not need a review request.
Helium 10’s canceled-request guide explains these statuses. A canceled request can mean a safeguard worked, rather than that you should try another channel.
If the explanation is unclear, record the status and affected period for support. Avoid repeatedly changing the automation while investigating; that makes it harder to understand which setting produced the result.
When handing this task to another person, explain what successful completion looks like: eligible requests checked, unexpected statuses investigated, and unresolved questions recorded. Do not set a target that pressures them to produce a certain number of positive reviews. Their responsibility is to run the process accurately. Customer opinions remain outside the team’s control, and the reporting should reflect that distinction.

Should I keep Seller Assistant installed?
Helium 10 recommends uninstalling the discontinued extension and switching to Follow-Up. Its continued appearance in Chrome does not establish that its requests work correctly.
Is Follow-Up included with a free Helium 10 account?
No. The current Follow-Up FAQ says the Free plan does not include access and points users toward Platinum or Diamond. Confirm current inclusions before paying.
Does requesting reviews guarantee a higher rating?
No. Buyers decide whether to respond and what rating to give. Use requests to invite honest feedback, then use that feedback to improve the customer experience.
Start with the process you can maintain: a clear request method, sensible monitoring, and attention to what customers actually say. That is the practical lesson I would carry forward from the original walkthrough.
Vova :)
