If you're selling on Amazon Japan, or thinking about starting, you're probably asking: Does Jungle Scout actually work in Japan?
Can you count on it to help you research products, manage inventory, and run your Amazon Japan business?
Well, the short answer is yes... but with a few important details to know.
In this article, I’ll walk you through everything you need to know about Jungle Scout and Amazon Japan.
We'll go tool-by-tool to see what’s currently supported, what’s missing, and how you can still succeed using Jungle Scout in the Japanese marketplace.
I’m Vova Even, an Amazon seller and content creator on YouTube, here to make things clear and simple for you.
Let’s dive in!
The Availability of Jungle Scout for Amazon Japan
According to Jungle Scout’s List of Supported Amazon Marketplaces, Japan is listed under marketplaces with limited support.
This means many tools work, but not all of them are fully functional yet.
That said, there’s still a lot you can do with Jungle Scout in Japan, especially when it comes to product research, keyword planning, finances, and reviews.
Let’s go through each section of the platform and break it all down.
Which Jungle Scout Tools Work for Amazon Japan?
Home Dashboard - Fully Available
The Home Dashboard is your Jungle Scout control center.
It gives you a big-picture view of your Amazon activity, including sales snapshots, keyword tracking, and product updates.
Having a unified dashboard helps reduce stress and gives you confidence knowing where your business stands at any given time, especially helpful if you're managing multiple international marketplaces.
Toolbox - Fully Available
This section includes two powerful features:
Sales Estimator: This tool estimates how many sales a product is making per month in Amazon Japan.
Super helpful when you're trying to decide whether a product is worth selling.
Listing Grader: This analyzes the quality of a product listing and gives it a score.
It shows areas that need improvement; helpful whether you're auditing your own listing or researching the competition.
Product Research - Mostly Available
This is a huge one for sellers, and here’s what works in Japan:
All of these let you find winning product ideas, spy on your competition, and keep tabs on what's performing well.
They’re fully supported by Amazon Japan.
However, Category Trends, a Jungle Scout tool that shows real-time trending categories, is not available for Japan.
It’s currently US-only.
But here’s a workaround: Just visit Amazon Japan’s Best Sellers page to manually monitor trends.
It takes more effort, but you can still get good insights that way.
Many sellers pair this manual trend-checking with Product Tracker data to validate their ideas and stay ahead of what's moving in the Japan marketplace.
-: Gentle Reminder :-
Suppliers - Partially Available
Supplier sourcing is a big part of selling on Amazon, and Jungle Scout has tools designed to make that easier.
For Japan, though, not everything is available.
Supplier Database: Not available in Japan. This tool helps find top manufacturers and lets you peek at competitor supplier info, but it’s US-only.
Supplier Tracker: Fully works in Japan. This tool is all about staying organized. You can track purchase orders, invoices, shipping times, and keep supplier records neat and tidy.
Supplier Tracker alone can save you hours each month by keeping your backend organized and reducing mix-ups with manufacturers, especially when dealing with international time zones, freight delays, or multiple POs.
Tip: Even without the Supplier Database, many sellers use Alibaba for global and Japanese supplier sourcing. I’ve created a full 50-minute Alibaba tutorial to help with that, hit the play button below to watch it now. 👇
Keywords - Partially Available
Here’s how Jungle Scout handles keyword tools in Japan:
Keyword Scout: This helps you find the best search terms for your product listings.
Keyword Lists: Organize keywords into themed lists to make listing building easier.
Listing Builder: Use those keywords to write high-performing listings, customized for Amazon Japan.
All three tools are fully supported in Japan, which is great for SEO and boosting visibility.
However, the fourth keyword tool, Rank Tracker, is not supported for Japan.
This means you can’t track your listing’s search rank for specific keywords over time, at least not with Jungle Scout.
But if you’re serious about keyword tracking in Japan, I suggest trying some third-party alternatives like Helium 10 and ZonGuru.
Their popularity is on the rise, and they could have features that Jungle Scout is still in the process of launching in Japan.
I’ve got playlists and discount offers for these below if you want to take a closer look. :)
Use My Coupon Codes to Save More on Helium 10 Subscription:
VOVA10: Get a 10% lifetime discount on all Helium 10 plans. That means you save every month or year you stay subscribed.
VOVA6M20: Take 20% off your first six months if you sign up for the Platinum or Diamond plans. A great way to try the advanced features at a lower price.
Marketing (Review Automation) - Fully Available
Jungle Scout’s Review Automation tool helps you automatically request product reviews from customers after a sale.
If you’re looking to grow your reviews without spending hours manually clicking “Request a Review,” this tool is a game-changer.
Just set it and let it do the work for you.
And yes, I’ve got a full walkthrough tutorial for that in the playlist too.
Even if you're a new seller, building up reviews quickly (and ethically) can make a massive difference in conversion rates.
Review Automation helps keep that momentum going.
Sales Analytics - Fully Available
The Sales Analytics section includes:
Profit Overview
P&L (Profit and Loss) Statement
Other Transactions
Amazon’s default reports don’t give you the full picture, especially if you’re tracking costs, fees, or international shipping.
With these tools, Jungle Scout gives you a clear view of your actual profits, including cost of goods sold, FBA fees, and other expenses.
It’s great for understanding if your Amazon Japan business is actually making money.
You can plug in exact expenses like product cost, freight forwarding, customs fees, packaging, labeling, and more.
It transforms vague assumptions into hard data, so you can make smarter decisions.
Advertising Analytics - Fully Available
If you’re running Amazon PPC ads (pay-per-click), this section will help you analyze your ad campaigns and spending.
The Advertising Analytics tool works perfectly in Japan.
You’ll be able to see which ads are performing, what’s costing too much, and how to optimize your budget over time.
Plus, the integration with Seller Central means you can track both organic and paid performance in one place, making campaign adjustments quicker and more informed.
Again, there’s a tutorial for this in the playlist, check it out if you’re new to PPC!
Manage Products - Fully Available
Inventory management is crucial for FBA sellers, and Jungle Scout’s tools here are very helpful.
This section includes:
Inventory Manager
Product Settings
Cost Inputs
These tools let you track how much stock you have, how fast it’s selling, and when to reorder.
It can even calculate the time it takes to make and ship new inventory to Amazon’s warehouses in Japan.
The Inventory Manager syncs with your Seller Central account, making stock predictions and reordering way easier.
No more guessing when you'll run out, or overstocking and tying up your capital.
If you're planning a product launch in Japan or dealing with long lead times from overseas suppliers, this tool can help you avoid those painful "stockout" situations that hurt rankings and sales momentum.
Jungle Scout Chrome Extension - Fully Available
And finally, we have the Jungle Scout Chrome Extension.
This tool lets you do product research right on Amazon.co.jp.
You can see data like estimated monthly sales, reviews, FBA fees, and more; directly on any Amazon Japan product page.
It’s fully available for Amazon Japan.
To get started, just install the extension (button below), and then watch my step-by-step 45-minute tutorial to master it.
-: Learn How to Download and Install the Jungle Scout Chrome Extension :-
The Chrome Extension is especially handy when you're casually browsing Amazon Japan for ideas.
You’ll be able to validate product opportunities in real time without logging into the Jungle Scout web app.
A Note About Tool Availability
As of now, Jungle Scout is partially supported in Amazon Japan. You can always check which tools Jungle Scout supports for which Amazon marketplaces, they are always evolving!
Many tools are already up and running, while others (like Rank Tracker and Supplier Database) are still unavailable.
But here's the thing: Amazon Japan is a growing marketplace, and Jungle Scout is constantly updating their platform.
So some of the tools that don’t work today might be supported soon.
That’s why I recommend checking the official Jungle Scout tool availability chart.
It’s kept up-to-date and lets you see which tools work for which marketplaces, including Japan.
I also suggest bookmarking it and checking back once in a while if you're active in multiple marketplaces.
It only takes a minute and can help you stay ahead of new features.
-: Gentle Reminder :-
Final Thoughts
So, is Jungle Scout available for Amazon Japan?
Yes, it is.
Does it support every feature?
Not quite, but many of the most important tools do work, and they’re incredibly helpful for product research, listing creation, financial planning, and review generation in the Japanese market.
Thanks for reading, and I wish you great success on Amazon Japan, whether you're selling samurai swords, garlic presses, or something totally unique!
