Jungle Scout Basic Plan: Here is the Answer to All of Your Questions

Hi. My name is Vova Even, and it's great to have you back on my Amazon FBA blog. I have been a seller on Amazon since late 2016, and I'm still actively selling on the platform.

In this post, I will cover all there is to know about the Jungle Scout Basic Plan. It’s something special to me because this software, Jungle Scout, has literally changed my life and widely impacted my Amazon career. It helped me find my first product on Amazon back in late 2016, kitchen scissors.

Having been in business for a year, I quit my job in 2017, and ever since then, I have been working on the Amazon marketplace. Besides that, I have also been sharing my journey, experience, tips, and tricks on my YouTube channel, not to mention my Udemy courses where thousands of students around the world are learning to perfect their trade game.

If you are a Jungle Scout user or contemplating using it, you will probably want to know about the service’s subscription plans. I have picked the Basic plan today. I also have detailed posts for the Suite, and the Professional plans.

Continue to read this post ahead to learn all there is to know about the Basic plan, as I will review it thoroughly.

Jungle Scout Pricing and Coupon Codes

The Basic plan is available at $49 per month. However, the price varies between monthly and yearly billing plans. For example, if you pay monthly for Basic, you will be paying $49.

But, if you subscribe to the yearly plan, you will pay $29 monthly with a one-time payment of $349. With this investment here for the Basic Plan, you can enjoy the special offer for twelve months.

The Jungle Scout pricing page is located right here, you can learn more about what's in the Basic plan.

Please take note that there are no discounts for the Basic plan. With the discounts below, you'll be able to get the Suite plan, which is a more advanced plan of Jungle Scout with even more features, for way cheaper than the basic.

The 50% OFF Jungle Scout discount will get you the Suite plan for only $34, instead of $69. Cheaper than $49 for the Basic.

jungle scout 50 percent off discount code

You can get Jungle Scout Suite for 3 months for $149, which is a one-time payment, but it's the same as paying for the Basic $49 for 3 months, with waaaay more features. Read more about this deal here.

And there are also the 9-month and 3-month Suite plans, which are pretty cool. I'd say that for three months, there's a good deal in the other link with the exclusive offer because you can pay $169 for three months or even enjoy $149 on the special discounts pages mentioned below.

If you invest in the yearly plan of Basic, you'll get it for $349. However, if you use this special link, you can get the Suite plan of Jungle Scout for $399, which again has way more to offer for almost the same price.

Think about it :)

I have a video that compares the Basic plan to the Suite plan right below. A detailed blog post is also available; JS Basic Vs Suite plans review.

Jungle Scout Basic Pricing Plan

The Basic Plan includes a single-user license and full access to the browser extension on Chrome and Firefox. So basically, the Basic plan is primarily for using the Jungle Scout extension.

Discover how to download and install the JS extension in this short post. Plus a video is available for you.

How to use the JS extension is a blog post that explains how to use the extension. Plus a video is available for you.

The Basic plan does have other stuff with it, but it is quite limited. The main thing that is being emphasized with this plan is the Chrome extension, which helps you with product research and product validation on Amazon.

The Basic plan grants limited usage for most of the other tools of Jungle Scout, which we'll cover below. It does give full access to the review automation tool of Jungle Scout (which helps you request reviews automatically), and the Sales Analytics tool, which helps you understand your profits on Amazon at a deep level.

We'll cover all the tools soon. But before moving on to the Jungle Scout tools in the Basic plan, you need to know the following two things:

Money Back Guarantee

The Basic plan of Jungle Scout offers a seven-day money-back guarantee. It's kinda like an alternative to a free trial of Jungle Scout.

This means if you invest in the plan and you're not finding it valuable for any reason, you can cancel anytime. If you do it within the first 7 days, you'll get your money back.

But if seven days have passed, and let's say you've been using Jungle Scout for 14 days, you can still cancel (anytime), but you won’t be able to get your money back. Still, before you cancel, I recommend you think about the following questions:

  1. What makes you want to cancel?

  2. Are you canceling because you are not enjoying the platform?

  3. Are you canceling because you don’t know how to use a specific feature?

After having your answers, please remember that you can always talk to me or speak to the team at Jungle Scout, and we will try to resolve your issues in the best way possible.

Hopefully, you will have your issues resolved and continue using the tool. But even then, if you are unable to enjoy it, it's not for you, and you can always cancel it anytime you want.

By the way, if you find it hard to use Jungle Scout, I have a YouTube playlist with over 70+ videos that show you how to use Jungle Scout. Also, there is a full tutorial of all the Jungle Scout tools with Ed from Jungle Scout. I’ll add it below for you.

Time stamps are available for each tool.

Included Seats

For the included seats, there's only one seat available for the Basic Plan. Now what is an ‘included seat’ and why is it important? Well, essentially, it means the number of users that you can have in your account.

For example, if you have a virtual assistant using the account with you, or your partner. If you want to share your account, you need extra seats.

So, if you want to add someone who will do product research for you on the account, you cannot do it since, with the Basic Plan, you only have one seat and cannot add any additional seats. Only you can use the account.

But that doesn’t mean you can never add virtual assistants to your account! You can easily avail of this feature on Jungle Scout, but for that, you will have to refer to other plans, which I will discuss some other time. Just for your information, there are 6 extra seats in the Jungle Scout Professional account.

For now, let’s focus on the Jungle Scout Basic Plan tools.

My Relevant Blog Post: Jungle Scout Suite Vs Professional review

Jungle Scout Basic Plan Tools

Product Research

Browser Extension

The browser extension is fully available for the Basic Plan and is the most prominent part of it. You can use it in Chrome and Firefox browsers. It allows you to do product research and product validation.

I welcome you to learn about other Amazon FBA Chrome extensions, such as the extension by Helium 10.

Opportunity Score

Opportunity Score helps understand profitability and competitive potential of a niche. Based on the Jungle Scout’s data, you will be able to see if a niche has a high opportunity or a low one.

Opportunity Score ranges from 1 to 10. 1 means that the niche is hard, and 10 means it’s easy. I honestly won't rely only on that score to determine if the niche is good or not, as you need to conduct thorough research to get your things right.

Review Downloader

This tool helps you with product research and product development. You can download all the reviews of a product. Once you get all the reviews, it will enable you to see the common positive and negative trends in these customer reviews.

Let’s use a random pair of ‘kitchen scissors’ as an example.

If the majority of the customers complain that the blades are short, or that they are not sharp enough, or that the product breaks quickly, you can improve your product by addressing these concerns.

A similar tool is Review Insights by Helium 10.

Product Tracker

The next one is the Product Tracker which helps track products that you’ve previously found. You can see their performance in a given period of 1 month (with the Basic plan). You can track 20 products for the Basic Plan, which I think is not bad for someone doing product research.

Amazon Sales Estimator

Amazon Sales Estimator by Jungle Scout estimates monthly sales of a product. This tool will help you estimate how many sales a product is doing per month (or day).

Learn how to use the Jungle Scout sales estimator.

You can also use the Jungle Scout Chrome Extension to see product sales estimations. However, the Sales Estimator is free, and the extension is not. If you're using the Sales Estimator with the Basic plan, you will have 500 estimates per month.

Here’s a quick tutorial that explains how to use this tool.

I'd also like to invite you to read my AMZScout Vs Jungle Scout estimators review, where I show how the one by JS stands against the one by AMZScout.

Opportunity Finder

The next one is Opportunity Finder. Here, the Basic plan goes sort of on a lower level because it provides you with only three searches per day.

Opportunity Finder is going to help you find products. Essentially, it's an Amazon product research tool. It’s a very effective one, but in my opinion, three searches a day are simply not sufficient to conduct comprehensive product research on Amazon.

Here’s a detailed tutorial with Ed from Jungle Scout, which explains how to use this tool.

Product Database

Product Database is another tool that provides you with in-depth product research opportunities on Amazon. However, unfortunately, this one too is limited to only three searches per day with the Basic plan.

Keyword Scout

Keyword Scout is a keyword research tool that helps you find the relevant keywords for your product. Again, the Basic plan allows you only three searches a day, which is not enough for in-depth keyword research.  But it's still something to try out, even if just for the sake of getting the hang of the tool.

Supplier Database

Supplier Database helps you find and verifies suppliers to source your products. Jungle Scout has access to a big database of suppliers. They have built an excellent system where you can find suppliers for your products.

Generally, you can do the same on Alibaba or some other websites, but Jungle Scout makes the process a bit easier for you.

One of its benefits is you can see the suppliers of your competitor. So if you see a perfect high-quality competitor, you can talk to their supplier and maybe get the same quality products or even higher. But with three searches per day, again, this Basic Plan is not enough to find a good supplier, in my opinion. Generally, I would recommend the Suite plan more than the Basic plan.

Industry Leading Data

AccuSales Estimates

Now, let's continue with industry-leading data. Basic plan AccuSales Estimates has a unique algorithm to check Amazon sales estimates. Fully available with the Basic plan.

Historical Product Tracking Data

Historical Product Tracking Data allows you to see product performance data over time. However, It's only limited to one month with the Basic Plan. It's a great tool because by tracking the history, you can see how well the product has been performing recently. One month of data is not a lot, but it’s enough to see at least some performance. Other Jungle Scout plans offer longer time periods of data.

Historical Keyword Data

This tool’s function is not much different from the previous one that we discussed. Instead of product tracking, this one does keyword tracking for you.

With this tool, you can know which keyword has been searched the most in a specific period of time.

Take, for example, the keyword 'kitchen scissors.' If there are unusual searches for this keyword during Mother’s day or Father’s day, or Women’s day, you can use this keyword to boost the sales of your product during such events.

With the Basic plan, the data is only given for one month. Not much to deeply understand how a given niche is performing.

1 year with the Suite, 2 years with Professional.

Similar to the Search Volume History by Helium 10.

Marketplaces

The Basic Plan works for 17 Amazon Marketplaces. I believe that they will gradually include more marketplaces in the future.

Advanced Seller Features

Manual Review Request

With Manual Review Request, you can send review requests in bulk with a single click. You can use it on the Basic plan.

It's an excellent tool in Jungle Scout, where you go to your Seller Central and click on request reviews for all your orders.

You can request reviews 5 days after the product has been delivered, and up to 30 days after delivery.

Similar to the Helium 10 Seller Assistant extension.

Review Automation

What you can essentially do with the Review Automation tool is you can automate review requests. By doing it manually, there’s always a chance that you might forget it. Hence, I won’t call it the best solution, honestly. Because, at least for me, I tend to forget things. But gladly, I'm working on that. 😉

With Review Automation, you can automate the process. So then you will have Jungle Scout sending those review requests for you. Review Automation is available for the Basic plan without exclusions, and delayed send.

Sellerboard also offers review automation, here's a full tutorial and review of Sellerboard for you. Helium 10 also has this feature.

Ads Analytics

Ads Analytics is a tool by Jungle Scout that helps you run your PPC campaigns on Amazon, it’s not available with the Basic plan.

A similar enterprise level tool for ads by Jungle Scout is called Downstream.

Rank Tracker

The Rank Tracker helps you see the ranks of your keywords on Amazon.

Let’s say your product is kitchen scissors, and you want to see how it performs on keywords such as ‘kitchen scissors’, ‘sharp shears’, and ‘kitchen scissors dishwasher safe.’ You’ll see the positions of your product on these keywords.

This tool is not available with the Basic plan. Here’s an overview of this cool tool with Ed from Jungle Scout.

There is a similar tool by an Amazon software ZonGuru, which is called ZonGuru Keyword Tracker.

Sales Analytics

Sales Analytics tracks expenses and Amazon sales data; that's a pretty cool feature of the Basic Plan. With the help of this tool, you can see your profit and loss much more profoundly than on Amazon.

You can input the cost of your products, the cost of your warehouse, and many other expenses, so you can see your actual margins.

Jungle Scout has made this tool available for all plans. Hence, if you only need Jungle Scout specifically for Sales analytics, you can have that for only $49 a month with the Basic plan.

Listing Grader

The next is the Listing Grader which is good for testing listing quality and gaining optimizing insights. Jungle Scout takes a specific listing on Amazon – it can be yours or someone else‘s – and gives you its score.

On the basis of that score, you can know if it's a good listing or needs some improvement. You get one hundred uses for the Basic Plan, which is pretty cool.

Again, I would not rely completely on this score, but it does give you a basic understanding of whether a listing is optimized, or not.

Listing Builder

The Listing Builder helps you build your listing inside Jungle Scout. It is much more comfortable than making it in Excel or somewhere else.

You can input the keywords that you found through Keyword Scout inside the listing builder and build your title, bullet points, and description right there.

This tool is not available with the Basic plan.

Inventory Manager

Next, we have the Inventory Manager. It allows you to see how much stock you have right now. And based on your sales and the history of your sales, it can predict when you will sell all of your products so that you can order new stock.

Not available for the Basic plan.

Alerts

Alerts will send alerts to your email if things change on your listing. Things like; price, dimensions of your product, buy box availability, and many other things.

Sometimes, things might change on your listing based on a glitch, or a hijacker (someone that connects to your listing and changes stuff).

Alerts will save you because if you don't pay attention, these things might cost you money or time.

After all, you're not going to see any unexpected changes without this tool. There is, however, one drawback; the Alerts tool is not available for the Basic Plan.

Promotions

The Promotions tool helps you promote your products and boost sales with coupons and offers.

Promotion helps you with keyword ranking and getting your product out there. This, too, is not available for Basic Plan.

Supplier Tracker

The Supplier Tracker (and Database) helps you track the suppliers that you’ve found with the Supplier Database tool. Compare them, see which one offers better terms, etc. Good tool.

The Supplier Tracker is not available with the Basic Plan.

Support and Training

Academy Training

Jungle Scout also has a course that helps Amazon sellers learn how to sell on Amazon.

In Academy Training, which the Basic Plan subscribers get for FREE, sellers can learn about Jungle Scout and its various features that can help them scale their business.

You’ll also learn how to use Jungle Scout tools for different areas on Amazon, such as product research, keyword research, listing optimization, and many other areas!

So if you were looking for some valuable reasons to invest in the Basic Plan, count on this one too! Fully available for the Basic plan.

Similar to Helium 10 Academy.

Jungle Scout also has the Freedom Builder Bootcamp advanced course, which is somewhat similar to Freedom Ticket by Helium 10, or the Amazing Selling Machine.

Customer Support

The customer support that will be available to the subscribers. It is available for the Basic Plan, so if you need help, just reach out! :)

Priority Onboarding

Priority Onboarding is quick access to Jungle Scout exclusive onboarding training. There will be someone from their team on a call with you that shows you how to use Jungle Scout, and gets your questions answered.

That's helpful because sometimes you don't know how to use it. But, the bitter truth is: this is not available with the Basic Plan. This part is only available for the Professional plan.

The Takeaway

The most crucial facets of selling on Amazon are covered by Jungle Scout, which is a handy tool for sellers. Business analytics, product research, keyword research, and many other types of features are available to explore.

Jungle Scout's Basic Plan will assist you in understanding the fundamentals of selling on a website like Amazon if you're a beginner. And, of course, this tool can set you apart from your competition.

However, it is pertinent to mention that the only significant contribution of this plan is its product research capability. If your focus is only researching the Amazon market, the Basic plan is going to be a good pick for you.
